My name is Fredo Oresto, I have been working in recording studios in various capacities my entire adult life. The past several years I have transitioned into an entirely technical supportive role in the studio industry, working as a staff tech for such multi room facilities such as The Village and EastWest as well as for master tech Bruce Millett. After visiting hundreds of studios around the country, I have accumulated a deep understanding of recording studio design and integration, as well as a unique skill set focused on providing solutions across the dynamic arena of studio recording.

  • Pinebox Pro Audio - President Est. 2011

    • Freelance recording studio design and maintenance 

  • EastWest - Chief Engineer July 2024 - Present

    • Responsible for the care and upkeep of the legendary vintage consoles and equipment four commercial rooms as well as the historic microphone collection.

    • EastWest is one of the most historic and awarded recording studios still operating in America today.

  • The Desk Doctor - Tech March 2015 - October 2021

    • Troubleshooting, repair and field service of various recording consoles as well as general studio maintenance and design under the mentorship of the famous studio tech Bruce Millet.

    • Building of custom recording consoles, both of SSL and proprietary origin; The Custom Series 75 recording console built in house according to client spec. 

  • The Village Studios - Tech July 2017 - November 2019

    • Stewardship of all consoles, gear, and microphones used in the day to day operation of four commercial recording rooms and seven private studios. 

    • Daily backup of all sensitive session data from clients as well as tape session prep and calibration. 

    • The Village is ranked on Billboard’s 2017 list of the top 25 recording studios in the world.

  • Westlake Studios - Tech ~2015

    • Tech shop repair of outboard gear and microphones.

    • Westlake is famous as being the main recording venue of the single best selling album of all time among other very noteworthy recordings and artists. 

  • SAE -  Studio Instructor June 2013 - August 2015

    • Instructing classes with studio sessions and console operation, as well as administering console tests and session guidance. 

    • Conducting workshops for the benefit of the students in subjects congruent to their audio education. 

  • Signature Sound - Manager/Engineer September 2011 - February 2013

    • Responsible for booking studios, hiring engineers, managing, and scheduling interns as well as buying and selling equipment, and other daily studio tasks. 

    • Session engineer when requested.
